Gold-filled is a high-quality, durable chain option that provides the look of solid gold at a fraction of the cost. It is created by bonding a layer of gold to a base metal core. The gold layer is significantly thicker than plating ensuring a longer-lasting wear. We recommend taking care of it the same way you would plated jewellery to ensure long-lasting wear.
While our jewellery is considered permanent in that you can’t remove it, it is not unbreakable. In most cases permanent jewellery will last between 1- 5 years but can be influenced by lifestyle factors.
We take great care to ensure the weld’s integrity before completing your appointment; however, unforeseen circumstances may arise. Please be reassured that in such cases, we are here to support you and chains can easily be re-welded into place.
Be mindful that your permanent jewellery will remain on throughout your everyday life – exercise, swimming, sports, etc. Care should be taken to avoid catching or pulling the jewellery and damaging it.
Limit exposure to chemicals, such as chlorine in swimming pools, cleaning agents, and perfumes, which can tarnish or damage the jewellery over time. We recommend rinsing under fresh water after any contact with chemicals.
Sterling Silver is prone to tarnishing and can be easily cleaned using a silver polishing cloth. If you find a build up of residues such as lotions, you can simply clean the jewellery using a soft tooth brush with a little soap and water.
You must be 16+ to have a permanent piece of jewellery. However, minors may be accompanied by a legal guardian.
